What makes a piece of clothing a staple for you?
For me, it's something that's always a go-to. Something you know is going to work with almost anything. It's like a safety blanket for me. I know that shoe will be great, or I know that jumper will fit any situation. I can trust this piece every time.
What is your must-have piece for autumn?
A really nice roll-neck jumper. I think it gives a really chic, smart look. I only started getting into fashion in the last few years, and before, I didn't really get the roll-neck. The more I understand fashion, and the more I understand fits and how things look, I love how a roll neck makes you look. I think it's a unique look that stands out.
What is your go-to accessory?
A really good shoe or my jewellery. I think I’ll go for my jewellery.
If you could be anywhere for winter, where would that be?
Somewhere hot! Although I’ve never skied before and my friends have always gone to France to ski, so maybe I should try that. Somewhere up in the mountains sounds so peaceful and amazing. The French Alps -somewhere the opposite of somewhere with buildings and cars. Somewhere tranquil, quiet and beautiful. Somewhere still.
What's the best thing about London in Autumn/ Winter?
The preparation for Christmas is always lovely, going out to get gifts for family and friends. Going to the pub and getting cosy. Being with friends. I love dressing in winter more than in summer, you can do so much more with clothes.
How would you layer up for winter?
I would go for a base top, maybe a tank with a shirt and a coat. Some nice high-waisted jeans and some boots to make it look a bit fancier or for more of a street style, I'd go for some trainers. I'm really into bucket hats at the moment, so I'd wear a long coat with a hoody underneath and a bucket hat.
What makes a Johnstons of Elgin Cashmere Jumper Timeless?
I think it's the quality. The Cashmere jumper has always been a staple in men's and women's wardrobes, and I believe it will continue to be. It's just so classic.
How did it feel to wear our product on the shoot?
As soon as I saw it, I thought, 'wow'. I had so much admiration for the way it was made. It's incredible work. The colours were beautiful, not too bold. I wanted something more classic, a staple piece I could wear with any colour of jeans, trousers or chinos. The roll neck was stunning – beautifully fitted and incredibly well made. I loved it.
