What do you know about Johnstons of Elgin?

I love that you guys have really simple Cashmere pieces. I love the quality, and I'm getting to know the brand.

My Grandmother used to say if you only own one sweater, make sure it's Cashmere.

What makes a piece a wardrobe staple for you?

If I can wear something with other things in my closet effortlessly, I think that makes it a staple. I wear things over and over again but in different ways, so people can never tell. I have these satin pants that I love, and I wear them with everything – if I want to go dressed up or dressed down, with sweaters or tank tops.

What is your key piece of clothing for autumn/winter?

For me, of course, it's the Cashmere sweater, which I have in at least three or four colours. Navy blue, red and forest green. I love those sweaters.I can just pair them with jeans or some khakis; it’s something really cool I can wear with anything.

Is there an accessory you can't live without?

A good cap or hat is one of my go-to's. I love the fall/winter season; the more clothes I can put on, the better. A good, cool, comfy hat is my go-to.

If you could go anywhere for winter, where would it be?

I would probably say Paris; I would love to see it in winter. I've been before during summer, but I'd like to get the essence of the lights and the fashion in winter. I imagine it's romantic.

What's the best thing about New York in autumn/winter?

As cold as it gets, New York is so beautiful. You get to see the seasons change right before your eyes. A tree is turning red, and suddenly you have snow, and people come out and express themselves in a way you don't see in the summertime. How they dress is really cool. I love people-watching and getting inspiration.

What makes a cashmere jumper timeless?

The simplicity of it and the quality. It's usually something you will have forever if you take care of it. You can literally pair it with almost anything, and it will be chic, classic, and timeless. I have Cashmere sweaters from eight years ago that still do their job. Even if they’re worn down a bit, I still get compliments.
